About the event
The internationally-acclaimed ORA Singers perform Tomás Luis de Victoria's Requiem of 1605, one of the most powerful works ever written for voices. Composed for the funeral rites of Empress María of Austria, and later revised in dedication to her daughter, Margaret, Victoria’s final and most personal work is more than a Requiem - it’s a deeply human meditation on grief, hope, and peace. From hushed, candlelit textures to radiant waves of harmony, this is a work suspended in time: intimate, luminous, and transporting.
ORA Singers was born out of the belief that we are in a new golden age of choral music, the first being that of the renaissance. Celebrating their 10th Anniversary in 2026, ORA Singers are known across the world for their pioneering commissioning work; linking the music of the renaissance to the present day by working with some of the most exciting contemporary voices of our time.…
